Oak Barn Frame Farm Wedding

Kent Weddings, Oak Barn Wedding

The Oak Barn Frame Farm in Benenden is a beautiful rustic setting for a wedding with impeccable eco credentials.  In addition to being a wedding venue, it also has accommodation so that couples can have the peace of mind of not having to travel on their wedding day.

Laura and Josh had been together for over ten years by the time they got married.  They told me that they really wanted some lovely photos of them on their wedding day but neither one loved being in front of the camera.  I can’t tell you how often I hear that!  They had planned to include a couple of Italian traditions into their day as Laura’s family are Italian.

Getting Ready Cottages

The couple got ready in the Weavers Cottages which offer stylish accommodation.  It’s really easy for me to capture both partners getting ready when they are in the same location and Josh was just three doors down from Laura for most of the morning!

Laura had her sister as Maid of Honor plus three adult bridesmaids and her mum with her during the morning. Josh’s sister was the Best Person for the day and he also had another three groomsmen.  It was a relaxed morning and the weather was very hot!

A Floral Hoop Ceremony

The ceremony was held on the terrace of The Byre overlooking the lily pond.  The florist had created a beautiful floral hoop for the couple to stand in front of while they exchanged their flowers.  Laura and Josh had opted for some colourful garden flowers to compliment the venue and the relaxed vibe of their wedding.  Both of them were quite nervous for the ceremony but relaxed once it was all over! Confetti was thrown in front of the Weavers Cottages and then the guests chilled out with drinks in the Byre overlooking the sheep and fields beyond.

Couple Photos

I kept their couple photos really relaxed and just spent ten minutes before they headed into dinner. The weather was beautiful so there was a good chance we’d get a sunset later and we did!  The sun sets across the fields overlooking the Oak Barn and it’s a magical setting for evening photos.

An Italian Tradition

After the wonderful speeches, the couple took to the floor for their first dance.  They had a minute or so with their choice of song ‘Sway’ before Lauras mum started to wrap ribbons around them both which is a lovely Italian tradition.  One of my favourite photos of the day is of Laura roaring with laughter as she’s tied tighter to Josh!

Laura and Josh’s wedding was such a chilled affair and they were an absolute dream to capture, I so enjoyed spending the day with them.
