Given that Clara is half Danish and Javier is Spanish this was truly an international wedding. Guests arrived from all over the globe to spend the weekend at Hoath House with the couple.  Festivities began on the Friday evening and from what I understand continued until Sunday!

I was with them for only four hours but what a wonderful four hours it was. This wedding had me smiling through all of the 30 or so degrees heat on the day! I had photographed a styled wedding shoot before at Hoath House but never a wedding so this was a first for me and a pleasure. Clara and Javier had added lots of homemade touches to Hoath House and the wedding gazebo was a real visual feast.

The Girls Getting Ready

I arrived when Clara was more or less ready apart from getting into her dress.  Her two maids looked beautiful in dresses of different colours and Clara looked stunning in her softly draping gown.  There was time for some beautiful bridal portraits before the registrars arrived followed by Clara’s dad, grinning from ear to ear as he saw his beautiful daughter. The bride and her dad walked across the lawn to the gathering of guests sitting in the sunshine and her groom waiting at the flower and flag bedecked gazebo.

An Outdoor Gazebo Ceremony

The ceremony was a joy, mixed with readings in three different languages and the Spanish tradition of exchanging of 13 gold coins. There were a few tears lots of laughs and as the couple signed the register the brides cousins sang for the guests, it was a wonderful celebration of two families coming together.

Quiet Time for Bride and Groom Portraits

After some family group photos I whisked Clara and Javier into a quieter part of the gardens for some bride and groom shots. We captured some beautiful vistas over the Kent countryside and it gave the couple some quiet time alone.  We completed their shots under the three flags placed above the doorway to the house and then they headed into their wedding breakfast and I headed home.

Clara and Javier had one of the most relaxed wedding days that I shot during 2018 and it was an absolute pleasure to spend even a short time with them. Here’s a peek a their day.
