Chloe and Joe’s wedding at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells was nothing short of glorious. From beginning to end it was filled with warmth, happiness and joy. Not to mention the fabulously friendly people, lots of laughs thrown together with a good deal of fun. It was a great way for me to kick off the wedding season.
The day was bright and dry although a bit chilly. Being March, it was too cold to have their ceremony outdoors so the lovely Chandelier Room was set up for the formal part of the day. The aisle looked beautiful as it was lined with big floral arrangements on pedestals that would later become their table centres.
The Bridal Suite
Chloe got ready in the bridal suite with her girls and both mums. It was a relaxed morning while everyone had their hair and make-up done. The prosecco flowed and the garter was slipped into place with much laughter. Once she was in her dress, Chloe’s brother arrived to take her off to the ceremony.
A Chandelier Room Ceremony
The couple had opted for a short ceremony of just their vows but there were still plenty of tears and laughter. After the confetti was thrown outside the couple headed into the bar for welcome drinks and to greet their guests for the first time. This is always a lovely opportunity for candid photos of all the hugging and smiling. During the drinks reception, Adam Smith the magician was wowing the guests with his tricks, keeping something special back for the happy couple.
Just before dinner, I took Chloe and Joe off for a few couple portraits which gave them some time to relax before their meal and the coming party. Chloe was a real trooper and insisted that she wasn’t at all cold despite the fact that I was feeling a bit chilly myself! We did a quick tour of the gardens before heading in for dinner.
Speeches were a real rollercoaster of emotions for the couple. Chloe and her mum were in bits one minute and then shocked into laughter the next!
Creative Evening Photos
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a sunset but knowing that the couple really wanted some shots around the temple in the grounds of the Spa Hotel, I decided to make a feature of the new path lights and shoot something a little moody for them.
Late afternoon turned into a great party with plenty of dancing and photo booth fun.
What a day! Chloe and Joe are such a lovely fun couple and The Spa Hotel is one of my favourite local venues, so it couldn’t have got much better!
