Winters Barns Wedding Photography | Alex and Duncan
Alex and Duncan’s wedding at Winters Barns near Canterbury in Kent was a rustic delight. They created a simple yet very stylish decor for the barns which fitted perfectly with their aim of a relaxed, natural celebration, it was beautiful.
They insisted that they weren’t very romantic especially not for a camera but I think they did a fabulous job of just being in the moment, which is all I ever ask!
Alex had her hair and make up done in the Salon room at Winters Barns which is where I joined the girls during the morning. There was lots of fun with the girls practising how to walk down the church aisle in front of the bride and her dad! Alex then headed to the lovely period cottage with her mum and aunt to get into her beautiful Justin Alexander gown.
Jim had joined Duncan at their home which was a very short distance from the church. They boys were relaxed and even found some time to watch the football on the tv!

The couple had put together large jars of sweets on the dresser in the barn for guests to help themselves and had handmade a lot of the details. Family wedding photos were a key feature and one that really drew the crowd!
Alex and Duncan had an engagement shoot early in the summer and it was so lovely to see that they’d used the photos for their table plan.
The brides gorgeous hair vine was from Rosie Willett Designs.
Shoes from Rachel Simpson.
I headed off to the ceremony with her bride and her dad in Doris the VW Campervan from the Glampervan Hire Company.
The bridesmaids were up ahead.
The ceremony was held at Beltinge Baptist church and was taken by Alex’s second cousin which made it extra special.
The barn looked stunning adorned with lots of gypsophelia and fresh daisies and handmade touches which worked perfectly with the hops and lanterns which already hang there.
We left the guests and headed into the orchard for a bit of time alone with the couple before their wedding breakfast.
Bouquet tossing and a determined bridesmaid!
For their evening entertainment the couple chose a ceilidh band and it really got everyone up dancing, it was a huge amount of fun and a great way to round off their day.
