Scotney Castle Engagement Photos | Kate and Andy
Kate and Andy were keen to have their engagement shoot at Scotney Castle and without any doubt we were very happy to oblige as it’s an incredibly beautiful and romantic location!! They had considered the location for their wedding but instead chose Finchcocks as it was closer to Kate’s parents house in Goudhurst where they will be having their wedding reception but as it turns out it was lovely for them to have the best of both worlds by having Scotney be part of their celebrations.
Kate and Andy are a fun couple and it was really important to them that their photo’s reflected this side of their personalities as well as the fact that they are madly in love! They brought large K and A letters and some of the bunting that Kate’s mum was industriously stitching for the wedding so that we could incorporate them into their photo’s. This is a fab idea as it really links the event of the engagement shoot to the wedding and I always try to encourage our couples to do exactly this. The bunting looked fabulous draped around the old boathouse in the Scotney grounds.
We had a great time with them both and it was a very relaxed afternoon. There had been a wedding at the castle that day so the castle itself was closed to visitors which was brilliant for us as thanks to the people at Scotney we had quite a lot of time around the deserted castle. We got some beautiful photo’s of them laughing and dancing and Kate’s pretty fuchsia pink cardigan added a really lovely, almost vintage, feel to the final images, it blended so beautifully with the tones of the castle and the surrounding gardens and countryside. She told me that it was a last minute addition, so well done Kate!
Here’s a taster of their day.
