Lizzie and Tom’s wedding was a feast for the eyes and was a day that had me smiling all day long!  There was lots of fun, lots of laughter, a few tears and the most incredible rustic styling. It certainly was a recipe for a gorgeous wedding if ever I’ve seen one!

A Local Wedding

I so loved spending the day with this pair not least because their wedding ceremony was in my village church but also because they didn’t stop smiling or laughing all day. They really made the most of every second which was wonderful to witness. Some weddings are so infectious you truly feel like one of the guests.

Hair and make-up were in full swing when I arrived and Lizzie looked stunning.  There were lots of lovely details to photograph including bunting, candles, cards as well as the bridesmaid’s laughter when Lizzie gave them the photo book that she had put together for each of them. She was such a laid-back bride you almost wouldn’t believe she was off to get married!  Brides hair by Sophie Green and make up by Lauren McLay. Bridesmaids hair by Emily Wood.

The Boys at the Church

Jim met Tom at the church for a few boys’ shots before the ceremony and he got to inspect the fabulous wedding cars; a vintage 2CV for the bride and groom and a VW Camper for the bridesmaids, all bedecked in wedding style!

The Bride Walks to the Ceremony

Thankfully we had some lovely weather so the bridal party with the bride in her stunning Ronald Joyce dress could walk the short distance down the hill into the village and to the church.  All the while being greeted by neighbours and villagers on the way, it was so lovely to see so many people involved.  After a brief stop for family photos by the lych gate the bridal party headed in to All Saints Brenchley for the main event.

After the I Do’s and the confetti line, the couple set off for their reception by standing in the back of the 2CV with their heads through the sun roof just like visiting dignitaries!

A Beautiful Tipi Wedding Reception

This was my first tipi wedding and what a beautiful tipi it was from My Tipi Event. Lizzie and Tom had styled their wedding in the most beautiful and personal way and it fitted so well within the farm setting that the tipi stood in.

Although the sun shone for most of the day it was incredibly windy which proved quite challenging for their couple shots. Taking the couple into the open field just caused Lizzie’s veil and hair to blow a little too much so we headed for the shelter of the farm building and the lane where as it turns out, the light was incredible.

Speeches led to cake cutting and then everyone hit the dance floor but in between we managed to capture the last of the evening sunshine, using that amazing tipi as a backdrop.

What an incredible day it was!
