Penshurst Place Engagement Photos | Tunbridge Wells Photographer | Kayleigh and Chris
We met Kayleigh and Chris over a year ago when they booked us to shoot their wedding at Penshurst Place so it was really lovely to see them again for their engagement shoot in May and to catch up on all of their news.
We were due to visit Penshurst with them for a venue visit anyway so we decided to do both the visit and the engagement shoot at the same time. Although usually I encourage my couples to think of somewhere other than their venue for engagement photo’s, the grounds and gardens of Penshurst are so vast and have so many beautiful spots there was no real danger of using up all the good locations and leaving nothing for the wedding photo’s! I knew we could achieve two very different looks for them. Obviously the time of year is just as important!
As with most of our couples they didn’t know quite what to expect and were a little unsure about being photographed, but they soon relaxed and were a dream to shoot as they were very natural in front of the camera. It was a really hot day in May so we made lots of use of the shady areas under trees and archways which allowed us to capture the most wonderful shapes. We found some beautiful long grasses and wild flowers amongst the gardens which also had the most amazing light filtering through the trees, it was beautiful. We stood and then sat them amongst the grasses and it created a really romantic feel to the shots. We didn’t take too many wide shots of the house as we knew that we would make the most of the vista on the wedding day, so instead kept to the walkway above the Italian Gardens and took some lovely shots by the steps and by the old wooden gates.
We shot their wedding last Saturday and it was an amazing day! I’ll post a peek in a couple of weeks when Kayleigh and Chris have seen their photo’s.
