New Forest Engagement Photos | Katie and Peter
I always ask my couples if they have somewhere special that they’d like to go for their engagement shoot and Katie and Peter came up trumps with the beautiful New Forest. It’s somewhere that they go regularly with their families and it means a great deal to them. It’s not always possible for us to travel so far for an engagement shoot but we do occasionally make exceptions especially when somewhere is really close to our couples heart. As I hadn’t been to the New Forest for a long while myself it was a bit of an adventure for us to head out that way too. I’d forgotten just how beautiful it was and it was a real treat to come across the New Forest ponies just hanging around along the side of the road!
The Wedding Plans
It was an unexpectedly beautiful day in April and we met Katie and Peter in Lyndhurst. We started the day with tea in the Lyndhurst Tea House as we hadn’t seen them for quite a few months. It was really good to catch up with them both and to hear all of their news about their wedding plans and how they were coming together. We were really looking forward to shooting their wedding as they were going to be married in St Lukes Church in Matfield which is the next village to where we live. I always find it amazing that we’ve never shot a wedding in the churches nearest to home and that includes our own village church in Brenchley!
After tea, we headed off to the forest into an area called Bolderwood Arboretum and deer sanctury. Although it was a little chilly in Lyndhurst it turned out to be very warm in the shelter of the trees which was absolutely lovely so we just walked and talked! Katie and Peter are a wonderful couple and we had a great deal of fun with them. We were spoilt with the scenery and I was completely in love with the way the light was streaming through the canopy of the trees, just beautiful!
Here’s a few images from the day.
