I absolutely loved Sharon and Neale’s wedding, they have so much warmth about them and they packed so much love and emotion into their day; it was such a pleasure to spend time with them and to capture their beautiful wedding.

It was short working day for  Jim and I and we only spent a few hours with the couple for their ceremony at the Mansion House in Tunbridge Wells followed by a small reception at the Hotel Du Vin also in Tunbridge Wells.  They had planned their wedding for May 2017 but for family reasons had decided to bring their ceremony forward by a couple of months. They would have a church blessing and a big celebration with all of their family and friends in May. This particualr day was just for their immediate family.

Both Sharon and Neale got ready the Hotel Du Vin and I joined Sharon just before she got into her dress the process of which was watched very carefully by her little niece who came complete with tiara and wand!  Scroll down to read more…

Jim joined Neale and the rest of the family in the hotel bar for a quick sandwich before they all headed off to the Mansion House.

The Hotel Du Vin staircase is lit from a skylight directly above and casts the most gorgeous light, perfect for a bride!

A friend of the family had a restored Volkswagen camper van which was adorned with ribbons and flowers and took the bride and her dad to the Mansion House.  There’s something very special and intimate about small weddings and Sharon and Neale’s ceremony was absolutely lovely.

Despite the small numbers Sharon and Neales family were definitely professional confetti throwers!  Not only did they have standard confetti they also had confetti bombs – which was a first for me!  It made for some of my favourite ever confetti photos.

The plan was for the couple to head back to the Hotel Du Vin in the camper van along with their little flower girl and for the family to have a few photos before sitting down to a meal in the Mouton Rothschild room.  First though we were able to grab a couple of shots by the camper van before they left.

It was early March so still chilly so everyone gathered on the terrace outside of their reception room for a group shot and, of course, the very last confetti bomb!

We had such a lovely day with Sharon and Neale and celebrated our own wedding anniversary on the same day!
