Great Barn Rolvenden Wedding Photos | Sarah and Chris
Sarah and Chris’s wedding was one of the most emotional wedding days I’ve been to in a long time. It was a real rollercoaster for them and for their family as they had suffered a close family bereavement only a short while before. Everyone was knocked for six but they all however, managed to take a deep breath and they spent the days leading up to the wedding decorating and dressing the lovely rustic Great Barn in Rolvenden. It looked divine! Sarah’s very clever mum had created all of the lovely floral table decorations which were stunning.
Sarah got ready in two places. She had her make up and hair done by Emma Smisson at the couples home and then travelled to Boughton Monchelsea Place to get into her dress and finish getting ready. The couple were one of the last to have their ceremony at Boughton Monchelsea as soon after their big day the venue was taking a break from hosting weddings.
Emma Smisson had created a beautiful soft up-do for Sarah and a natural make up and she looked amazing. At Boughton Monchelsea, I photographed Sarah’s beautiful Lusan Mandongus gown which she’d bought from Teokath in Canterbury and her other details including her gorgeous flowers by Distinctly Floral in Maidstone.
Chris was getting ready at the White Lion in Tenterden and Jim met him at Boughton Monchelsea for his epic arrival on a restored family tractor, which proved to be a great photo opportunity and the first grooms arrival on a tractor for us!
Sarah walked through the gardens of Boughton Monchelsea around to the front of the house (without her shoes I may add!) before heading into the entrance hall for a intimate ceremony surrounded by their close family and friends. After the signing of the register they headed out into the warm air to greet their guests and relax with some champagne. We captured some beautiful couple shots in the gardens and then the couple headed off to the Great Barn in a wonderful vintage Triumph 2000.
At the Great Barn
The personal touches and decorations were everywhere in the barn including the fabulous wedding cake which Sarah herself had created. It all looked stunning. After the wedding breakfast there was emotional speeches and then a fabulous first dance to Happy Together by the Turtles before the couple and their guests laughed and danced the night away to Papa Moles barn dance.
Here’s a few shots of their lovely day.
