Vaulty Manor Wedding Photos | Emma and Dan
Emma and Dan’s wedding was my first at Vaulty Manor and what an amazing day it was! Not only did we have sunshine but Emma and Dan are such a lovely couple and really natural with each other in front of the camera so we had some lovely photo opportunities with them.
Vaulty Manor is a beautiful rustic venue located in Heybridge close to Maldon in Essex. It’s a restored 17th century barn with added accommodation so everything can be in one place and it’s surrounded by lots of gorgeous countryside; a photographers dream!
When I arrived to join Emma, her mum and sisters in Rose Cottage, Emma’s hair and make up were well underway and the champagne was about to be poured!
Jim busied himself shooting the reception room details while Dan and his friends set up their band equipment for later in the evening. The couple had put together some really lovely natural details for their tables including slices from tree branches for their place names and table centres, hessian wrapped glass jars for flower centre pieces and apple crates for cards and for housing their seating plan. Emma also opted for a dried flower bouquet which was beautiful and perfectly in keeping with the style of the day.
Emma looked stunning in her gorgeous Lara Hannah dress from Rock the Frock Bridal in Battlesbridge and her lovely soft hair style created by Laura from Laura Michelle Hairdressing matched it perfectly. The added touch of some dried flowers in her hair mirrored Emma’s bouquet and Dan’s button hole.
It was a lovely personal and intimate ceremony in the oldest part of the barn. The couple then took a moment before heading out into the sunshine and their confetti line and drinks reception. Emma and Dan were really generous with their time and we had almost half an hour with them for their couple shots while their guests were being seated for the wedding breakfast. The grounds of Vaulty Manor are beautiful so we were a little spoilt for choice. We started their shots with the entrance gate to set the scene and then ended by some lovely red doors which we’d found on our venue visit with them and this gave them a nice variety of shots to choose from.
Their speeches were great and Dans best man speech was one of the funniest speeches I’ve heard in a long time. Dan is part of a band (which was part of the evening entertainment!) and they decided to sing him a song, it was brilliant and had everyone in stitches which is always great for photos! After their meal we took the couple out into the fading sunshine for a few additional couple shots while the light was beautiful. After this the party really got underway and kicked off with Dan and his band playing a couple of sets which was fantastic and they even got everyone up dancing!
Thanks Emma and Dan for allowing us to share your special day with you, you were amazing!
Here’s a little taste of their beautiful day, just look at that blue sky!
