Country Garden Wedding Photographs | Sammi and Ed
We’d met Sammi and Ed originally last year when we shot their friends wedding in Kent and so it was a real pleasure to be able to shoot their wedding too. They were married in June in their local church All Saints in Kemble followed by their reception in the beautiful country garden of Ed’s dads home in nearby Coates.
We had the most amazing luck with the weather for Sammi and Ed’s day. The week leading up to their wedding had been fabulous but on the Friday it started to turn and on Saturday we woke up in Cirencester to torrential rain. Thankfully it was dry for all of the important outside bits during their day and then later in the afternoon it was glorious sunshine for their reception!
Sammi’s family had arrived from Australia a couple of weeks earlier for an extended visit and so the lead up to their wedding was quite a hectic but was a really lovely time for them all. It was amazing for Sammi to have all of her family around her while she got ready on the day. There was lots of chatter, laughter and Scrabble playing and the time just flew by as it always does. The bridesmaids wore the most amazing pastel pink dresses which had been bought in Australia and which could be worn in a number of different ways. Each of the girls tied the dresses to suit their own style and they looked amazing; the pink was so pretty on them all. Sammi’s dress was so elegant and she topped it off by wearing Ed’s mothers brooch which had huge sentimental value as his mum has passed away the year before. Sammi and Ed’s dog Toad also played an important role in the wedding by travelling with the bride in the wedding car and looking very fetching in his ribbon!
Ed got himself ready at their home and then headed off for an ushers lunch in the local pub before heading back to Kemble to the church.
During the ceremony the heavens opened and we were worried that we wouldn’t get any shots of the couple outside. However, as they emerged as husband and wife the sun shone! After the guests had left for the reception Sammi and Ed remained behind so that we could get some time alone with them to do some couple shots. They had arranged for us to use some very beautiful local gardens before heading off to their reception in a marquee in Ed’s dads garden.
I don’t think I can describe how beautiful a setting Ed’s dads garden was for their reception, it was stunning and every bit a very English country garden. I do know that he had worked very hard to get everything just right for Sammi and Ed and it was absolutely perfect on the day. The sun shone and it was fantastically warm which enabled everyone to have drinks on the lawn. They had decorated the marquee in lots of pale pinks and creams and it looked stunning and very inviting!
I’ll let the photo’s speak for themselves!
