I was really excited to be photographing Beckie and Max’s wedding last March at Cooling Castle Barn.  Not only are they are such a wonderful couple; I learnt very early on that their photography was super important to them, which is always music to my ears!  I also knew their wedding was going to be a delight for the eyes and I really wasn’t disappointed!

I had the chance to re-connect with them before their wedding and get to know them a little more when Jim and I joined them in Greenwich park for their engagement session in early February.  This also gave them a chance to experience being photographed, not that they really needed it!

On the day of their wedding they both got ready at Cooling Castle and I joined Beckie and the girls in The Moat House while Jim joined Max a little later in one of the other rooms.  I’m always excited to see a pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoes and I made sure I grabbed a few shots of those.  I also loved the prettiness of Beckie’s bouquet and that was before I’d seen what Amanda from Distinctly Floral had created in the main Tithe Barn.  Keep scrolling to read more..

Beckies Tara Keeley designed dress from The One Bridal was ‘oh so’ pretty and elegant.

The selection of blooms and they way they were displayed at varying heights looked amazing on the reception tables.  The wood blocks were a perfect compliment to the barn surroundings.

Bridesmaid gifts!

The couple gave each other gifts and Max sent Beckie something gorgeous in a Tiffany box!

There’s always time for a few laughs with the boys.

Deep breath, it’s nearly time.

That magical moment when dad arrives.

Pretty blossom trees.

Beckie arrives along the minstrels gallery and down the stairs.  The staircase in the Fathom Barn has the most wonderful light to bathe the bride in as she steps into the room watched by the groom and the guests.

After the ceremony the couple headed off to the Tithe Barn to get a first look at the fully decorated reception room and to have a few minutes to themselves while the guests head to the bar in the Heritage Barn.

Although it was a little chilly we herded all of the guests into the gardens for confetti and family group shots.

The one important thing that Max had organised for their wedding was the light up letters so shots of with these was an absolute must!

Amazingly Beckie wasn’t cold at all and was happy to spend some time outside for a few shots around Cooling Castle.  It’s a shame it was a cloudy day but at least there were a few spring flowers!

While the barn was being prepared for the evening we took the opportunity to grab a few shots of the couple amongst the twinkling lights of the barn (and those light up letters of course!).  And then the party really got underway.
