Chilston Park Hotel Wedding Photos | Lucy and James
We first met Lucy and James in early April to chat about their wedding which they’d set only four weeks ahead! They had only recently got engaged and decided that they didn’t want all the fuss and stress of organising a big wedding so they settled on a very low key intimate affair with only their immediate families, so just 11 guests in all!
It was a truly relaxed day for everyone including us! (We’re not used to having quite so much time on our hands to photograph the bride and groom and their groups before dinner!) I had loads of time to photograph Lucy, her family and all of the details in their large suite at the Chilston Park Hotel. I loved being able to hang her gorgeous dress up on the four poster bed as it really showed it off beautifully. Lucy’s did her own make up and her sister did her hair for her. I managed to capture a lovely shot of Lucy looking pensively in the mirror which I have to say is one of my favourite shots I’ve taken ever.
Lucy’s arrived at the church with her parents and sister in their own car and then took a moment’s breath before heading up the aisle to her groom. Despite small numbers the church didn’t feel at all empty and it was a beautiful ceremony with a choir. The Holy Cross is lovely to photograph in as it has a balcony at the back of the church which makes for a fabulous viewpoint for the ceremony. It also means that we can be completely conspicuous from the couple.
They headed back to the Chilston Park for afternoon tea followed by photographs in the grounds and then champagne before dinner. Their day ended perfectly with a private dinner in the hotel Library.
We’ve just taken delivery of their gorgeous Queensberry Duo album so I’m really looking forward to presenting them with that soon!
Here’s a few images from the day.
We also shot James’s sisters wedding at The Holy Cross Church. To take a look at Kate and Dougs wedding photos, click here.
