Canewdon Essex Wedding Photos | Iryna and Paul
Iryna and Paul were recommended to us by one of our past wedding couples whose wedding we had photographed about five years ago in one of our local villages. We were delighted to be recommended and jumped at the chance to photograph Iryna and Paul’s wedding blessing which was held in the beautiful St Nicholas Church in Canewdon Essex at the end of October 2015. After their blessing they had arranged to have a very laid back reception at The Anchor Pub in Canewdon. The couple had already had a very quiet civil ceremony the week before with just their immediate family and so their blessing was their day to celebrate with all of their friends and extended families.
Iryna and Paul had opted for an autumn theme to their wedding with bold colours of orange and purple. Being autumn the weather was a little unpredictable so Iryna had bought some heart shaped umbrellas in their theme colours just in case which as it turned out was a good thing. Iryna spent a relaxed morning with her sister and friends at home getting ready while Paul was at the Westcliff Hotel just down the road. Iryna wore a gorgeous 50’s style knee length dress from Oh My Honey which sat over purple trimmed petticoats from Petticoats A Plenty. She then finished her outfit with an orange belt around the dress to match the theme colours for the day. It goes without saying that there had to be twirling and Iryna didn’t disappoint; she looked amazing.
Jim travelled to the church with Paul and many of the couples friends and family in a Routemaster bus while Iryna arrived in style in a 1951 Daimler Consort from Lewis Car Hire in Southend.
St Nicholas Church sits high in Canewdon and has fabulous views of open countryside to the River Crouch. The church itself is 14th century and is surrounded by legends of witchcraft and ghosts. The old village lock up and stocks still remain on the site of the church. Iryna and Paul met at the church door and walked down the aisle together for their blessing in this medieval setting which was beautiful. We managed to grab a few family group shots before the rain started to come down quite heavy. At this point the umbrellas went up and Iryna and Paul headed through the confetti to their reception at The Anchor where they had a very relaxed evening with a hog roast and lots of singing!
Here’s a few shots from their day.
